Christmas 2023: Social events and peer groups in Bradford and Craven

In the run-up to Christmas, there are a handful of accessible social events and peer-led groups taking place across the Bradford and Craven area. Many of them are ked or co-led by autistic adults. In this guide, we are listing them all, including information on how to join.

Out Spoken – Winter Wellbeing Session

  • CHANGE and Yorkshire MESMAC’s project for LGBTQI+ adults in Yorkshire who are autistic and/or have a learning disability are running an extra group around being well in winter
  • Tuesday 19th December, 6pm-7pm
  • On Zoom
  • To join, you must be an LGBTQI+ adult who is also autistic and/or has a learning disability living in Yorkshire

Specialist Autism Services – Keighley Hub

  • A Hub session run for autistic adults in Keighley
  • Typically open on Thursdays, 1pm-4pm
  • Central Hall, Alice Street, Keighley BD21 3JD
  • Open to autistic adults living in the Keighley area

The Cellar Trust – Peer Support Groups

  • Regular peer support groups with a mental health focus
  • Dates available on request
  • Groups can be accessed by self-referral or referring someone you are working with

Mind in Bradford – Wellbeing Groups

  • A weekly programme of mental health groups
  • Dates listed on their website
  • Most of their groups are free to join
  • You must register before attending a group

HALE Project’s Social Groups

  • Regular groups including activities such as knitting, socialising, woodwork and walking in the Shipley and Baildon areas
  • Run throughout December
  • Most groups are free
