Pride events in Bradford and Craven this August

Next month, there will be four events marking LGBTQIA+ Pride in our part of the world. All of them will be in-person and are free to attend. In this blog post, we will have information on where they are, when they are happening and on any accessibility provisions they have made.

Skipton Pride

  • Date: Sunday 3rd August
  • Times: 11am to 7pm
  • Location: High Street, Skipton BD23 1JJ

This year, Skipton Pride will be taking place on the High Street for the first time! There will also be British Sign Language (BSL) interpreters and an accessible viewing platform.

Bingley Pride

  • Date: Saturday 16th August
  • Time: 1pm to 10pm, inclusive of evening events
  • Location: Bingley Arts Centre, Main Street, Bingley BD16 2LZ

For the first time, Bingley has its’ own Pride event! It will start at 1pm with an opening ceremony, before a march takes place from Myrtle Park to the Arts Centre. The march will take between 30 to 40 minutes. It is free to attend.

After the march, there will be stalls for local services in the Arts Centre and Bingley Market Square. There will also be some performers on stage. In the evening, there’ll be a show at Mavericks for adults only. It’ll cost £10 to get in.

The Arts Centre has an accessible gender-neutral toilet and step-free access. There is access to the first floor via a lift. More information is available on the Bingley Pride website.

Keighley Pride

  • Date: Saturday 16th August
  • Time: Opens at 1pm
  • Location: Cougar Park Stadium, Royd Ings Avenue, Keighley BD21 3RF

This event is free to attend and will be all in one place. Until around 5pm, there will be stalls for local services and traders with information on support available for local LGBTQIA+ people.

In the evening, there will be performances from a range of acts. Donations are welcome. Accessibility features include step-free access to the indoor area where information stalls will be, as well as an accessible gender-neutral toilet.

Bradford Pride

  • Date: Saturday 30th August
  • Time: 12 Noon until late
  • Location: City Park, Bradford BD1 1SD

This year’s event will remain in the City Park. There will be a mix of information stalls for local services and live performances on a big stage. In the evening, a range of other venues in the city centre will be hosting performances.
